Faculty and staff in the department participate in all four years of the professional curriculum, although most interactions with students occur in the third and fourth years. The department offers a one-year internship program for newly graduated veterinarians and three-year residency programs in several clinical disciplines for veterinarians seeking advanced training and board certification. Our faculty and staff frequently contribute to continuing education programs offered by the School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
DVM Professional Program
The DVM degree curriculum is a four-year post-undergraduate program composed of three years of classroom study with a final year of clinical rotations. It is designed to give future veterinarians a solid base in disease recognition and clinical competency.
Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program
The VMBS’ largest graduate program is Biomedical Sciences (BIMS). Students can earn BIMS masters or doctoral degrees through any VMBS department.
